Traveling to Canada
You should check with a Canadian embassy or consulate to see whether you need a visa to travel to Canada. Also note that if you have a non-direct flight with a connection in the U.S.A., you might need a U.S. Visa.
Airport to/from Downtown
A large number of airlines fly to Montreal and the Pierre Trudeau International Airport (YUL). The Aérobus provides transport to the downtown area (near the Berri-UQAM metro station) in about 20-30 minutes for $15 per person. Alternately, taxis are available just outside the terminal and cost about $40 to the conference venue. If you need to pay by credit card, check with the taxi driver before getting in.
HotelsThe metropolitan Montreal area provides a large selection of hotels, pensions, and other accommodations in all price ranges. McGill University has negotiated special rates with several hotels. Those closest to the ICMC venue are listed below. In order to benefit from these rates you need only mention McGill University when making the reservations. The Holiday Inn is the closest hotel and has agreed to offer a free upgrade to their "corporate floors" for the price specified below. They are reserving a block of rooms for the ICMC until 15 July 2009.
